Ministry History / What We Believe
Public School Bible Study Outreach Ministries was birthed from a passion to reach out to a hurting generation of youth with the love of Jesus!
After teaching and directing an off campus public school bible study program for 7 years, Deborah Flowers (PSBSOM’s Executive Director) felt led of the Lord to reach out further than the community she was currently involved in.
In mid 1999 upon the request of different surrounding Church Ministries, she began speaking out about the program in these local churches. This later grew into hosting public meetings to teach others the mechanics of the program; it’s legal standing and why it is important to reach our youth. This was also the time when the ministry began to get the message out through News Media, local Christian Talk Shows and Radio.
Public School Bible Study Outreach Ministries is not only dedicated to reaching out to our youth, but also is dedicated to reaching the entire nation with information about Release Time Programs. PSBSOM is currently in it’s infancy stages, but is making a huge impact for the glory of God!
What We Believe
Public School Bible Study Outreach Ministries is a Non-Denominational ministry. We believe that the message of God’s Word can be communicated in a simple manner, easy to understand, believe and follow. We believe this to be a critical part of ministry to children.
GOD
: We believe that there is one true God, eternally existent (Alpha and Omega, beginning and the end – Revelation 1:8), creator of heaven and earth (Genesis 1:1). He is God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).JESUS
: We believe Jesus is the Messiah prophesied of in the Old Testament. The only begotten Son of God. Conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin (Mary) was sinless and blameless among men. He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6… "Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’") His blood was shed for the redemption of sin and covers us (Ephesians 1:7, Romans 4:7). Jesus rose from the dead on the 3rd day and will return again to reign as King (Revelation 1:7-8). Also see John 1:1-5.THE HOLY SPIRIT
: Part of the triune of God, The Holy Spirit is our comforter, teacher and counselor (John14:18,26). He testifies of Jesus (Hebrews 10:15). The power of the Holy Spirit enables us to live a holy life (Galatians 5:16-25). Also see Titus 3:5.THE BIBLE
: The Bible is the only infallible inspired written Word of God. As a God given History Book and Manual for life, the Bible provides everything we need to know from the beginning of this universe to it’s end, as well as how to live a holy life. 2nd Timothy 3:16 says "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." The Bible clearly points to Jesus as our Savior, revealing God’s plan for redemption throughout its pages from cover to cover.
