St. Ferdinand Catholic Church
Ferdinand Township, Dubois county, Indiana

Baptisms, 1843 - 1859

These records were typed from copies made from the microfilm available through Mormon Family History Centers. This is a very poor method of transcribing church records. Vital information is hidden in the binding where it could not be photographed, and the general clarity of the images is also diminished.

Great reliance was made of Father Schipp's Ferdinand Area Immigrants listing for the spelling of names. The spellings of names as written by the priests were often creative and sometimes unrecognizable by the average reader. Anyway, I did the best I could with the transcription.

The following towns which now have Catholic churches were covered by St. Ferdinand for various periods between 1843 - 1869.

  1. Fulda
  2. Huntingburg
  3. Mariah Hill
  4. New Boston
  5. St. Anthony
  6. St. Henry
  7. St. Meinrad
  8. Siberia
  9. Troy
