FROM OUR PASTOR'S DESK:

Since we have our annual visiting missionary appeal on this second Sunday of the month, we will delay the second Sunday collection for Capital Campaign reduction to next weekend of August 17th. Father Fid Levi of Glenmary Missionaries will ask for a second collection for his appeal after communion today. We thank all our missionaries who work tirelessly in the Lord's vineyard. This Friday is the feast of the Assumption and a Holy Day of Obligation. Check the bulletin for Mass times. Since Friday is the first day of School, our mid-morning Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Weekday Masses return to the 7:50 a.m. time next week, beginning on Tuesday, August 19th.

This week I am offering morning Mass on Monday because of School Staff meetings that day, and we will not have Mass here on Tuesday. I will see the school parents at registration Monday night, August 11th at 6:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.

STEWARDSHIP - A DISCIPLE'S RESPONSE -
Elijah recognized the voice of God not in the strong and heavy wind, not in the earthquake, and not in the fire, but in a tiny whispering sound. May we find enough quiet in our clamorous world to hear His voice and discern what He is calling us to do and be.

MEMORIALS:
Clarissa Hochgesang, Dorothy Pfau
