Beatles For Sale
The Beatles were busy touring and were really tired, but they were still
pushed to do a new album quickly. Beatles For Sale was rushed and it shows though it
is still effective. There are only eight originals on this album.
NO REPLY starts the album off nicely. John was really starting to write good lyrics
at this time. I'M A LOSER shows the influence Bob Dylan had on the Beatles and is a good
song. BABY'S IN BLACK is nicely sung song that is kind of like a waltz. ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC
a cover of Chuck Berry is nearly identical to the original. I'LL FOLLOW
THE SUN was written by Paul when he was a teenager. MR. MOONLIGHT is a very bad cover. I don't like
this one. KANSAS CITY/HEY HEY HEY HEY a cover inspired by Little Richard's medley is not my
favorite. I never did care for this one. EIGHT DAYS A WEEK was a hit in the US and a good song.
It is the first song to fade in. WORDS OF LOVE is the only Buddy Holly song
the Beatles ever officially released. They have nice vocals on this harmony song.
HONEY DON'T is Ringo's lead vocal on this album. It is the first of two Carl Perkin's tunes
on this album. EVERY LITTLE THING is a good song written by Paul. I DON'T WANT TO SPOIL THE
PARTY is a good contribution by John. WHAT YOU'RE DOING is one of the best
on here. Good vocals. EVERYBODY'S TRYING TO BE MY BABY sung by George is another Carl Perkins
song. This is not the best album but it starts to show their change, and it is enjoyable to listen to.
