Creedence Clearwater Revival was one of the most popular groups in the late 60's and early 70's. CCR consisted on John Fogerty's vocals, brother Tom on guitar, bassist Stu Cook, and drummer Doug Clifford. They had many hit songs. In 1971 Tom quit the band to pursue a solo career. They made one more album then called it quits. Tom Fogerty died in 1990 of respiratory failure. John Fogerty went on to a successful solo career. He just released a new album recently.
