The Eagles released their second album entitled Desperado in 1973. It is sort of a country album with a western theme. If you like the country side of the Eagles you will like this album. Even if you don't you will still appreciate some of the songs. It starts out with Doolin-Dalton a very good song. It is one of my favorites. Then after Twenty-One, a redneck song which I do not like comes Out Of Control, a rocker which very much follows its name. Tequilla Sunrise and Desperado are both excellent songs. Desperado is one of my favorites. Certain Kind Of Fool is a decent Meisner song. It is not the best, but certainly better than his efforts on the debut. Then an instrumental version of Doolin-Dalton. Next is Outlaw Man, a good rock song with excellent vocals, followed by Saturday Night, a sort of sad song. Next is Bitter Creek, a fairly good Bernie Leadon tune. Rounding the album out is a reprise of Desperado and Doolin-Dalton. It combines the two best songs on the album. The first part is Doolin-Dalton, basically the same except for some different lyrics. The second part is Desperado with different lyrics at the beginning but then a beautiful harmony to end it quite possibly makes it better than the released version. This is a very good album as well and it would be well worth your money.
